v2.14.1 docs header polish: the docs-center search trigger is now a prominent search field right next to the brand — placeholder text, ⌘K hint, icon-only on narrow screens.

First-Week Numbers: One Number per Panel

One fixed weekly reading: GSC for click queries, Cloudflare for traffic, Clarity for stuck points — against four pass lines. Conclusions must cite panel numbers.

A true scene first

Day three: your first real visitors. Two kinds of beginners now — one refreshes analytics hourly and spirals; the other never looks and writes by vibes. The right posture sits between: one fixed weekly time, one reading, three numbers, one decision. A new site growing from single digits is completely normal — read trends, not absolutes.

Three panels, one number each

PanelThe one number you readThe question it answers
GSC → EffectWhich queries show and get clickedWhere Google places me; what players searched to find me
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsVisits + top three pagesHow many today; what they love
Clarity (optional)Where players get stuck in recordingsWhich part of the page slams the door

Four pass lines (read against them, not vibes)

MetricPass line / targetIf failing
CTR (click-through rate)≥ 2%Fix title and description — includes “game + query”? Any hook?
Daily clicks1,000/day is the goalSingle digits are normal early; a flat week is the signal to act (add pages / swap query)
Pages per visit≥ 1.5Below 1.5 = thin internal links: add 1-2 related-article links per page
New pages weekly10+Add only, don’t rewrite old pages — new pages are the incremental signal to Google

Reading discipline: only numbers on panels count

  • Conclusions cite sources: “traffic grew this week” must point at a number in a panel; un-citable conclusions are inadmissible next week.
  • Actions aren’t results: “published 10 pages”, “changed the theme” are things you did, not site outcomes — outcomes are whether CTR, clicks, indexing moved.
  • Overturned conclusions get fixed on the spot: last week’s “this query has no volume” beaten by this week’s data? Correct the note now; don’t let a stale “current truth” mislead next week’s you.

Three classic mistakes (made for you in advance)

  • Refreshing the panel daily: data barely moves weekly; hourly reads harvest only anxiety. Fix the weekly slot.
  • Chasing vanity numbers: total visits feel good, but “sources + click queries” drive action — read to decide, not to feel good.
  • Redesigning on every wiggle: algorithms tweak monthly; days of movement are noise — act after a flat week, not a bad day.

Three words to know (just these)

  • Impression: your page appeared in results once — clicked or not.
  • CTR: impressions converted to clicks — the report card of your title and description.
  • Trend: today’s points joined into a line — the only shape worth watching on a new site.

✅ Acceptance (all must hold)

  • ☐ Your weekly reading slot is on the calendar
  • ☐ You can quote one number from each panel
  • ☐ This week produced one number→action decision (even if the action is “keep watching”)
